Welcome to
Eric K. Tussie Memorial Page

D/Sgt. Eric Tussie was a proud and dedicated
member of the South African Police Service
and freind to all, especially those in need.

So you say after reading the poems and looking through the web pages and the pictures and then say, so who was Eric Karl Tussie anyway and what was the big deal?

So who was Eric Karl Tussie anyway?

Eric was a policeman in the South African Police Service. He was the proud holder of the rank of Sergent and a member of the Detective Branch. Eric was stationed at SAPS Point Decticve Branch.

Well the big deal is simply this.

Eric was one hell of a guy.

Everyone who knew Eric and especially those who worked with him enjoyed his company.

I met Eric just after he came to SAP Point as a student and soon grew to look forward and enjoy working with him. Personally I could not wait for him to return from Police collage.

Eric lived life to the full, he always knew were to find the best wholesome food. The best company. The best clubs. He was a lot of fun to be around. He was also a hard working Policeman. Those who worked with him had a lot of respect for him. Some of us grew to love him.

With hard work came hard playing and relaxing. We used to have large family braai's and family get togethers and boy did he know how to party.

Also for the loved few we used to go shooting usually an informal affair. The net result of this was a closely knit hard working loyal crowd.

Eric should have written a book on witty comments, one liners, and wise cracks. No matter what the circumstances were, he had to have his 5 cents worth often with very funny results.

So you see that is what the big deal is all about.

I have been robbed of a friend, Brenda and Shivon, a loving husband and father. The Tussie family a son. Glen and Brenda Tussie a loving brother. A young man of his life.

A community a hard working dedicated Policeman

But Eric has left us a rich legacy of good memories, good times to those close to him of love and a whole troop loyal friends and colligues who will miss him.

Now we come to the famous question. What happened to Eric.

Eric was shot in the back four times. This happened outside a night club here in Durban. He was shot by a Policeman from another Police Station in the Durban Area. The exact circumstances and occurrences remain clouded and are the subject of an on going Police Investigation. Which effectively prohibits further elaboration on the matter here.

The result of this unecessary violence I have been robbed of a friend.
